Birdsong Brewing sits at 1016 North Davidson Street in Optimist Park, on the low industrial stretch of Davidson below the NoDa strip. The brewery’s tap room page publishes the dog rule in one line: “Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome! Need water for your pup? Just ask and we’ll bring a bowl.” Nothing about that sentence limits it to the patio.

It also doesn’t say “inside” in so many words. The line sits in the general description of the taproom rather than under the outdoor seating copy, and two Charlotte directories describe leashed dogs at tables in the room. Birdsong runs no kitchen. That’s the mechanism: the North Carolina food code provision that confines dogs to outdoor dining areas, 15A NCAC 18A .2656, governs permitted food establishments, and the food here comes off trucks parked outside. Nobody at the brewery has put indoor access in writing, so it’s the one part of this listing that rests on inference plus directory reports.

Peanuts are free and the shells end up on the floor, which is worth knowing at dog-nose height. Food trucks rotate daily and post to the brewery’s calendar and Instagram stories. Parking is a lot in front plus more behind the building, on the left side, marked spaces only.

Hours as posted: 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Several third-party listings still show the taproom closed Mondays and opening at 3 p.m. Tuesday, which the brewery’s own page contradicts.

The tap list itself rotates. What the site publishes as fixed pages are the six year-round beers, the seasonal calendar with availability windows, and a limited-release list; the “What’s On Tap” page links to those rather than naming what’s pouring today.

Ninth Street Dog Park is about half a mile southwest through First Ward, and NoDa Brewing’s North End taproom is a couple of miles up the road.
