Borderline Bar & Billiards

Borderline Bar & Billiards is Suite 131 at 4120 Raleigh Street, in the back corner of The Pass, the warehouse-conversion complex off East Sugar Creek Road on the northern edge of NoDa. The dog rule lives in the bar’s own FAQ and runs four words: “YES. Dogs are always welcome.”

That’s the whole of it. No patio-only qualifier, no leash sentence, no weight cap, and no mention of an outdoor seating area anywhere else on the site either. The bar serves no food — its FAQ says so plainly, and points guests toward delivery or whatever they carry in. That matters for the rule that usually pushes dogs outside in North Carolina, 15A NCAC 18A .2656, which governs permitted food establishments and their outdoor dining areas. A room with five pool tables and no kitchen isn’t the thing that regulation is aimed at.

One caveat worth stating. At least one third-party directory describes dogs as welcome leashed in an outdoor seating area, which is narrower than what Borderline itself publishes and isn’t confirmed by anything official. Leash specifics and water bowls aren’t published one way or the other. County restraint law applies on the walk in regardless.

Five nine-foot tables, three dart boards, pool free to play, and the bar’s Instagram bio puts the room at 21 and over. Doors at 5 p.m. every day: midnight close Sunday through Thursday, 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Nothing here happens before dinner.

The Blue Line’s Sugar Creek station sits across East Sugar Creek Road from the development, and the Cross Charlotte Trail runs alongside it, past a mural under the overpass and a mini-pitch soccer field at the far end. No phone number is published; the site lists a general manager’s email instead.
