The Grove Street dog park is Tahoe City’s single designated dog space. Placer County’s ordinance requires dogs to be restrained everywhere off their own property, and this fenced field next to Conners Field is the exception the town built. The Tahoe City Public Utility District runs it, a short walk from downtown.

The amenities are modest and complete: a small open field, a water spigot rather than bowls, free clean-up bag dispensers the district keeps stocked, and somewhere to sit. Hours are dawn to dusk, year-round.

Two sourcing notes. TCPUD’s own web page doesn’t use the words “off-leash” and doesn’t describe the fencing; the fully-fenced detail comes from the district’s official social posts. The park functions as the town’s off-leash spot, and the district treats it that way. And there’s no published parking guidance — Grove Street is residential-scale, and on busy summer mornings the nearest open spot can sit a block or two off.

The park lands close to the pieces around it. Basecamp, downtown, doesn’t allow pets to be left alone in guest rooms at any time. The paved lakefront trail is a few minutes away, and leashes are required there. Commons Beach, just down the hill, prohibits dogs on the sand.
