Truckee River Raft Company runs the classic Tahoe City float: put in near Fanny Bridge where the lake empties into the river, drift five miles of mostly flat water, take out at River Ranch Lodge. Self-guided, about two to three hours. The company describes the run as mild and easy to navigate, with a few surprise rapids.

On dogs, the company’s homepage says it plainly: “We happily welcome dogs and encourage you to bring lunch and drinks.” That’s the whole published policy — no leash rule, size limit, or dog fee appears anywhere on the site, and flotation for dogs isn’t addressed one way or the other.

The take-out doubles as lunch. The float ends at River Ranch Lodge, whose deck over the river rapids allows leashed dogs — it’s a verified listing in this guide — and the shuttle bus runs the return trip to the start, 8:30am to 6pm.

The season runs Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Adults (13 and up) are $77, children 6–12 are $40. The office sits at 185 River Road just south of the “Y”, with customer parking published at 2200 River Road, and the paved trail from 64-Acres Park reaches the put-in on foot.
